≪Product Concept and Features≫

This sake cup is made by combining the strengths of contemporary design with traditional gold-flecked lacquer techniques. Illustrations of six moons are crafted into the lacquer, based on a motif of the Japanese cultural appreciation for “moonlight reflections” (gyakusanotsuki), which is where the Japanese word for sake cup (sakazuki) originates.
These moon motifs create unique and impressive cylindrical forms.
Designed by Kazushige Miyake, who has also overseen product design for brands such as Muji.Take part in the customary Japanese experience of “drinking sake while lovingly gazing at the moon” with this single sake cup. It’s made of wood, which provides a unique softness and taste.

≪Recommended use of the product≫

Though this is a sake glass, it can also be used as a small dish.
Furthermore, it is popular to use sake glasses for drinking tea in China, and the size of this glass makes it a perfect tea cup as well.
